Welcome from the President
C. Suzanne Cutter, M.D.
It is my pleasure, as the new President, to welcome you to the Charles R. Drew Medical Society (CRDMS) of Greater Los Angeles web portal. Your visit may be prompted to explore our history, check our activity calendar or watch our past outstanding presentations from virtual membership meetings, so while you are here please visit the Membership page and consider joining our important organization. Our 2022-2023 team of officers and committee chairs invite you to participate, not only at our monthly meetings – which may be live or virtual – but also by becoming a member of our engaging committees. We are building committees for the Communication (Publications/Web); Mentorship; Historical/Archives; Advocacy and more, all representing the ongoing growth of CDRMS. Our new officers join me for the next two years in this growth campaign, and we invite you to encourage 5 colleagues to join the CRDMS with you, in our push to improve the quality of health and access for our under-served medical communities throughout Los Angeles County.
Looking forward to meeting you virtually, or in person soon….

Our medical professionals use the networking opportunities to widen their circles of referrals and get informed on business and other opportunities. We assist Practice management by developing relationships with members and business sponsors that bring value.
Several local grass root organizations have partnered with CRDMS providing all levels of participation in community service for our physician members. Health fairs, job fairs, career lecturers, and science fairs - both virtural and in person - are just some of the health related activities.
Our scientific and practice management programming is offered in a variety of ways - both practical and as CME - virtual
- accommpanied by dinner - all add value to our members and their patients. The range of topics includes practice management, surgical and subspecialty updates, physician health, and much more. Some topics are presented by our proven member experts to give realistic timely information applicable to real physicians.
Our scholarship campaign runs all year long and at year-end events we sponsor significant scholarship awards to students. This is our commitment to the future of healthcare in the community and providing support to upcoming physicians from local medical universities.
Our local medical students are prepared and excited about paring up with our member physicians across all medical disciplines. Seasonally CRDMS hosts Mentor/Mentee exchanges that are bi-directional group conversation on relevant topics to the students! Giving guidance, situational advice, and inspirational support are key to help build their skill sets for the future. We are focusing on growing a leadership base .
As the voice for the health of minorities and underserved patients, CRDMS is regularly contacted by government agencies to advise on local health care issues or serve on task forces by our thought leading physicians in related specialties.
Whether it's our monthly Membership Meetings, health fairs, task forces, or local community events like the Taste of Soul, join Charles R. Drew Medical Society to become a valued participant in our events.
